Community Services Support Update

Lamont County Community Services staff have been working diligently to bring a variety of supports to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The following is a list of supports and new initiatives:

Social Support Needs Survey
- FCSS is conducting a survey to determine what needs exist in the community at this time. 

Community Resource List - A comprehensive list of resources and support available in the Lamont County region

Social Services Support for COVID-19 Funding - The Alberta Government is providing $30 million to municipalities, charitable and non-profit organizations to provide help to individuals, seniors, families and other vulnerable Albertans who are isolated or impacted by measures to contain COVID-19. FCSS Lamont County Region has received a portion of this new funding. Charitable and non-profit organizations are encouraged to connect directly with FCSS Lamont County Region to receive detailed funding guidelines and grant criteria. 

Please Note: Effective April 21, the Government of Alberta will be temporarily suspending applications for the $30 million in emergency social services funding to charities, not-for-profits and civil society organizations to support their COVID-19 response. Government has received over 600 applications. Current applications are being reviewed, and approvals for urgent requests will occur before reopening intake of applications.
