Lamont County COVID-19 Update

Lamont County Administration and Public Works buildings will be closed to the public as of December 13, 2020, to comply with new province-wide COVID-19 restrictions. Lamont County advises ratepayers and customers requiring service to contact County departments by phone or email. Anyone needing to conduct business in person must book an appointment.

On December 8, 2020, the Government of Alberta announced new province-wide mandatory measures for businesses and social gatherings. These restrictions will be in place for a minimum of four weeks:

  • Mandatory indoor public masking requirement is now extended province wide.
  • Restrictions and closures for businesses and places of worship take effect starting 12:01 a.m., December 13, 2020.
  • Mandatory work from home measures are effective 12:01 a.m., December 13, 2020, unless the employer determines that work requires a physical presence for operational effectiveness.
In addition to these province-wide restrictions, Lamont County requests that all residents continue to follow the Alberta Health Services prevention guidelines, which include:
  • Use good hygiene practices, such as frequent handwashing
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Stay at home and away from others if you are feeling ill
