NEWS RELEASE – STATEMENT: Lamont County Reeve Diduck Stands with Alberta’s Ukraine Support
February 28, 2022 – LAMONT, AB: STATEMENT – As noticed in public media[1], we have seen the Ivano-Frankivsk area and our twin community of Nebyliv, are experiencing bombing/missile attacks. We are very concerned for our twinning partners, and all Ukrainian people in the conflict region and across the world; we are supportive of the humanitarian efforts led by former Premier Stelmach and Premier Kenney’s announcement of $1M support for humanitarian aid from the Province.
Lamont County is the Cradle of Ukrainian Settlement in Canada. As such, Reeve David Diduck, supports Ukraine in its fight to retain independence and sovereignty. As a County leader, the Reeve expresses concern for all Ukrainians and our twinning partner Nebyliv, during this difficult time. “We wish for a swift and peaceful resolution to this war.”
Reeve Diduck has provided his support publicly on the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Alberta (UCCAb) website. Please visit the UCCAb website to offer additional humanitarian support (www.uccab.ca).
