FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Lamont County - 2024 Audit Complete
April 16, 2025 – LAMONT, AB: Lamont County’s Independent Auditors (Metrix Group LLP - chartered professional accountants) presented their audit report for the 2024 Lamont County Financial Statements. The report and the statements were approved by Council at the April 15 Regular Council Meeting. Metrix Group LLP, is an independent firm of Chartered Professional Accountants appointed by Council.

From the report: “In our opinion, these financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the County as at December 31, 2024, and the results of its operations, changes in its net financial assets, and its cash flows for the year then ended in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards.”
The annual audit is legislated by the Municipal Government Act and an important part of reporting on the operations of Lamont County to the Provincial Government.
“Having a clean audit ensures Lamont County is complying with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices to report the financial effect of delivering services and capital projects,” said Lamont County Reeve, David Diduck. “It is an important part of transparency in its reporting and is vital to future planning.”
Lamont County is in a reasonable financial position, with relevant reserves to ensure it is appropriately planning for the future and resident service level needs.
