It is not just about working together as a team to put out fires, complete rescues and assist in many emergency situations across Lamont County, it is about community engagement, improving the lives of Albertans and making communities stronger. One cannot argue that Mundare Station fits this bill. In fact, the station is not the only LCES team who is making our communities stronger and demonstrate community spirit. Our members are role models in the community, keeping residents safe and protected. Members have to get up at odd hours, in cold vehicles, and get prepared and respond to an emergency incident. It helps protect our community and ensures we have the resources needed to address emergency situations. And that does not include supporting the community through other volunteer events and engagement – and all of the members across Andrew, Bruderheim, Chipman, Lamont and Mundare are significantly involved in their communities and at events throughout the municipality.
“We are happy to see the members of LCES Station #5 Mundare recognized for their hard work and dedication,” said Lamont County Regional Fire Chief Bo Moore. “They dedicate their time and efforts to not only firefighting and rescue calls in Lamont County, but they also work hard to improve safety in their community before the emergency, with school & public events, community engagement and devoted service to others.”
Lamont County operates a regional fire service and this means members are involved across the county, responding to incidents that are not just in their local area. These heroes are doing their best to make sure Lamont County is a safe place to live and work.
Some examples of the stations in Lamont County doing their best to prevent incidents, engage the community in preparing for disasters and education, to raise community awareness and public engagement. This includes participation in community events (including assisting with annual celebrations and parades), training, and other opportunities to interact with the public across Lamont County.
