Current Burning Status

FIRE BAN FOR LAMONT COUNTY (effective April 25 at 4 p.m.)

Campfires, fireworks, exploding targets, charcoal barbeques, burn barrels, fires that require a fire permit, and any other type of outside burning are prohibited until further notice. Propane barbeques and ULC approved propane fueled fire pits are permitted.

Off-Highway Restriction: No person shall operate an Off-Highway Vehicle on Lamont County Right of Ways, Municipal Property, or trail in Lamont County during a Fire Ban.

Gas fueled barbeques with lids and liquid fueled camping stoves and fire pits (Camp Fire in a Can) will be allowed. A person who sets a fire during this ban may be prosecuted and will be responsible for the costs of extinguishing the fire pursuant to Lamont County Regional Fire Services Bylaw 888 For information, please contact Lamont County, (780) 895-2233. This fire ban will stay in effect until fire hazard conditions improve significantly.

Burning or otherwise failing to follow the conditions set out in a Fire Ban, or Restriction Order could result in a $1500 minimum fine.
