Reminder: Revisit Winter Burn Sites (Lamont County Emergency Services)

To prevent spring wildfires, revisit your winter burning projects to ensure they are fully extinguished. See: lamontcounty.ca/departments/emergency-services/fire-permits/revisit-burn-sites for additional tips. Check your burn site multiple times in the coming weeks to ensure it has not reignited.

SNOW EVENT - March 28 update

Due to the accumulated snow in excess of what was forecasted, Public Works has dispatched graders today - and has advised drivers to take extra precaution to limit gravel loss, as well as to leave a small snow pack on the road.

Public Works has dispatched snow plows to clear paved and oiled roads, and to sand where required. At this time, dispatching of graders is being withheld—due to the fact that the gravel surfaces are now loose and plowing the gravel roads will result in significant gravel loss. Public Works continues to monitor snow accumulation and if required, will dispatch graders where road safety hazards arise.
